About

About Us

Social Scapegoat is a political and social commentary site for anyone who has a passion for debate.

Our team of talented Scapegoats work tirelessly to produce the highest quality opinion and commentary on the news of the day.

We mock politicians, make fun of the news, and attempt to bring a fraction of sanity and reason to the bamboozling political landscape.

(We also occasionally make fun of celebrities).

*Social Scapegoat is a proudly independent political commentary site and does not reflect the views of any organisation we work for, have worked for, or may work for in the future.

Our purpose is to be provocative, engaging (and if we can swing it – funny). We want stories that inspire debate and discussion that is open to everyone. (And by inspire debate, we don’t mean articles that call people names, that are sexist, racist,  prejudiced, derogatory, or defamatory. If this is you – you’re barking up the wrong blog).

Terms & Conditions

It is our goal to be engaging, thoughtful & accurate without being offensive. If you disagree with something we have written – please leave a comment on our contact page.

Comments

This should go without saying but for the trolls up the back – be cool guys.

As the owners of this site, we are ultimately the ones that will cop grief for comments that are defamatory, or that are in contempt of court – so we will not publish any comments which get us sued. Neither will we publish comments that are sexist, racist, derogatory or defamatory. Swearing is fine – but name calling is not encouraged (though we know sometimes it is irresistible and so will judge those comments on a case-by-case basis). We will not edit your comments except to fix up typos.

Consider also that your basic ability to string a proper sentence together will be valued highly as a prerequisite for publication. If you are going to send us emails asking “WHY DIDNT U PUBLIS MAH COmetzz” – it might be worth running a quick spell-check before sending.
