I haven’t seen Eclipse yet either. Though having a teenaged daughter who is, well some what of a piss taker (can’t imagine where she gets it), we do quite often make sport of watching really shit movies and taking the complete piss out of them while we do.

we also grade books we read on the “piccoult-brown-meyer scale”. If it’s crap we rank it as either Piccoult, Brown or Meyer brand of crap. (I probably shouldn’t place Brown in there since I have never actually read any of his work, but the idea of reading it just makes me throw up a little- hence his inclusion on scale of pop/lit crap)

Twilight on the other hand turns my already cold heart into a block of ice.
I’ve never read the books, I don’t plan on reading them either. I can’t understand why my girl friends and everyone else I know likes them. The female characters are dull, graceless, vapid & utterly submissive. It really does make me want to vomit.

I have managed to avoid the latest film but I have a feeling that it is only a matter of time before someone drags me kicking and screaming into watching it again.

I love this post. I was really hesitant about allowing my daughter to read these. They were just so awful. Badly written. I read an interview with Meyer once and she said that Bella was the daughter she always wanted but never had. I found that really disturbing.
