Monika’s Doggie Rescue stays open! (Hopefully, for good)

Posted by Claire Connelly in Uncategorized

I apologise for the tardiness of this post – I know that a Monika’s Doggie Rescue update is MASSIVELY overdue.

Thanks to all of your generous donations, Monika’s Doggie Rescue raised the $75K necessary to remain open for the next three months!!!

Thank you to everyone who donated, and especially to all the positive feedback I have received. – I hear that some of you have even decided to adopt a puppy from Monika’s Puppy Rescue!

This is simply amazing and I cannot thank you enough for improving the lives of all the dogs at Monika’s.

Though they have raised enough money to stay open temporarily, unfortunately it may still be short lived.

I am still encouraging people to become a Doggy Lifesaver:
- It’s about $80 a month and it provides for everything Monika’s may need to care for these puppies – food, vaccinations, repairs to the shelter etc.
Monika has already found 348 doggie lifesavers, they need another 750 to stay open forever.

Alternatively you can Sponsor a Dog:

(This option is great for people like me who live in an apartment and therefore can’t have a dog full time).

- Basically, you choose a specific dog to sponsor and your donations pay for everything the dog needs.

That way they care for it for you, and you can come up on weekends, or evenings and take your sponsored puppy home for the day/ take it for a walk etc. It’s a perfectly reciprocal relationship – Monika’s stays open, and you get to play with cute puppies!

So if this is for you, or if you have any dog crazy friends like me who can’t afford to keep a pup full time, please pass on this information about Monika’s.

Also updates on their progress can be found on the website:

(By the way, a doggie life saver also has the same options as someone who sponsors a dog, they are always looking for volunteers, so if you feel like some exercise and a change of pace, head up to Monika’s Doggie Rescue and help make the life of their puppies a little better).

Anyway, thank you again – you’ve saved thousands of doggies lives, and made them a little brighter.
