Save Monika’s Doggie Rescue
Posted by Claire Connelly in Uncategorized
Since Monika Biernacki founded Doggie Rescue 17 years ago, she has done everything in her power to keep as many dogs as possible from death row.
The latest figures released for NSW reveal that a shocking 63,651 dogs were killed in the last year – up 11% on the year before.
That figure doesn’t include greyhounds.
Over the years, with the amazing help and support from dedicated volunteers and supporters, Doggie Rescue has managed to save the lives of nearly 8,500 dogs – healthy, loving creatures who would otherwise have faced certain death, becoming just another statistic.
Over this time Monika has saved thousands of dogs from death row, collecting pound dogs from all over NSW, giving them a new home at Doggie Rescue at Ingleside where they rehabilitate and care for them, and try to find loving new homes for dogs that have been neglected and abused.
They have done a lot of belt tightening over recent months but they are now at the point where they cannot see a way out and are left with no choice but to close the shelter.
Monika’s doggie rescue needs to raise $75 000 dollars by the end of April or else the shelter will have to close and the dogs will have to be returned to the pound where they will face almost certain death.
Though I will be collecting cash donations over the coming weeks, it’s probably easier to make a secure online donation using Paypal.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

I know that times are tough but any donations that you can make would be very much appreciated – it would go a long way to keeping Monika’s Doggie Rescue alive (literally), so they can continue to help save the lives of these precious dogs and find them new homes with loving families.

Thank you for your love and support
P.s The doggie rescue is also urgently in need of basmati rice, dog food, fencing material, and locks and latches. Obviously cash donations are crucial but if you can spare a few dollars for a bag of rice, or some locks and latches you have lying around/from the hardware store, Monika’s Doggie Rescue would be most grateful for any and all things you can provide.
